About Me

My Photo
Thank-you for your interest in Tena Wood Photography! I’ve always loved snapping photos of my children ever since they were babies, over 30 years ago. Though I have actually been in business a few years, I have learned so much! To me, this is photographic art - To look for and capture the personality that friends and family see and love about you! It has been extremely fulfilling to be a part of my client’s lives - to get to know these sweet families who put their trust in me to capture those special moments. My mission as a photographer is not only to provide you with stunning, high quality portraits, but to create an amazingly stress-free photographic experience - to capture the real you to be cherished by your family for generations to come...

Wintery Scene...

We don't get too much snow where I live but I used this winterberry overlay from Precious Posh Photography and snow overlay (I believe it was also from Precious Posh) to create a wintery scene.

New Year...

I can't believe it's 2014! Wow - time flies! Okay, well I have decided its time for a change which also includes a change in my photography business. I will be centering on more scenic photos to sell. Of course I'll still be posting photos of my family.  I haven't found my niche in the photography field and to be honest, I'm looking forward to trying some new things. I hope we all have a great 2014.

Family -

I had an absolutely wonderful photo shoot with my daughter, granddaughter and soon to be son-in-law and new granddaughter last weekend.  It was on the cool side but the autumn scenes were fabulous! Here in the South, you never know how long you have before the cold rain and wind knock all of the beautiful, multi-colored leaves off of the trees. We had a storm a few days after this, so I say we were incredibly fortunate!

Senior Pictures -

I love taking all sorts of photographs but I especially love photographing seniors.  They are so much fun.  Once they loosen up the first 15-20 minutes, they love to contribute to the shoot.  They start coming up with ideas and I just think that's great! I love their ideas and involvement in the session.  This young lady was such a gem! Beautiful, as well as sweet and fun. That makes for a fun afternoon!

Football photos

Football season is almost over where we live.  I did enjoy it though - and my favorite thing?? Taking photos of my babies of course!  Well, one football player and one cheerleader - so, here are photos of both.  Oh yeah - and two wanna-be cheerleaders.  So, I guess a couple more next year. That's fine with me - I love watching them. :)

Little Strands of Pearls...

This morning as I finished taking out the garbage, I noticed a white, stringy substance strung from the bottom leaves of my Bradford Pear tree to the ground. At first it was kind of weird looking and when I came closer, it was a spider web covered with dew. I looked around and noticed that the trees and shrubs had them everywhere. So, I ran in to get my camera - I never miss an opportunity to grab a few photos of nature's little gifts. What I saw through my lens were the most beautiful pearls! I just wanted to share a few with you.

I also noticed even at this time of the year, my clematis vein was still blooming.  I had to capture one more shot of its beautiful blooms before it leaves us until next year.

Have a great day and try not to overlook life's little gifts...

My Favorite Fishermen...

These two guys love to fish!  Any time they can, they are at the creek or on the river and wearing the fish out!  Here are some updated photos of them.
